Ashland’s Swing Tree Brewing is closed
Sad news from Ashland, Oregon, as Swing Tree Brewing announced recently on Facebook that they were closing their doors:
Hey there Swing Tree fans. It is with a very heavy heart that I must let everyone know that tonight is our last night of operations. On November 14, 2013 we opened our humble doors in this little business park in Ashland. Since then, we have made some amazing friends and enjoyed some great times. I am honored to have had the opportunity to share with you all our Friendly Neighborhood Brewery. I assure you all that is was not the lack of community support that has caused us to close. We have never been able to keep up with the demand of our loyal and loved guests and it breaks my heart to be saying goodby.
I’m very sorry to see them close, we’d met the owners a few years ago and I wrote about the then-up-and-coming brewery with optimism. They were a great addition to the Ashland scene. Unfortunately as a business or for whatever reasons, it doesn’t always work out.
We did briefly stop into the tap room back in July 2015 and I had a half-pint of Porch Swing Pale Ale; unfortunately kids were not allowed and it was a family trip so we didn’t stay long. It was located in an industrial park and while it seemed like they had a fairly vibrant scene, it’s hard to speculate about how things went in the year and a half since.
Best of luck to the Swing Tree folks in their future endeavors!
