Received: Widmer Falconer’s IPA
Yesterday I received a package from Widmer containing the latest in their lineup of their Rotator IPA series: Falconer’s IPA. This is a 7% abv beer made with Falconer’s Flight™ hops, which is a proprietary hop developed to honor the late Glen Hay Falconer, an influential Oregon brewer. And Widmer has additionally donated funds to the Glen Hay Falconer Foundation for brewing scholarships.
As anxious as I am to try this beer, what’s amazing here is the packaging: a fairly heavy-duty wooden box that was “created using reclaimed wood from Portland, Ore., and the packing material is made out of recycled coasters.” I am encouraged to reuse this box, or optionally send it back to Widmer for future use (they provided a return shipping slip to do so).
Inside the box were two bottles of Falconer’s IPA and a Widmer Imperial pint glass.
