2nd annual Bend Ale Festival returns this Veterans Day
The month of November one of those shoulder-season, awkward months for beer festivals—the weather has turned, it’s the start of the holiday season, and things are generally in a bit of a lull between fresh hop/pumpkin beer season and the winter and holiday beer events. Last year here in Bend, a new brewfest stepped in to take up residence in the middle of the month: the Bend Ale Festival.
This straightforwardly-named fest is in conjunction with the Bend Ale Run, a half-marathon and 10K run that takes runners into the Cascade Mountain foothills. Participants also get entry into the Bend Ale Fest, but you don’t have to run to attend.
Saturday, November 11 (Veterans Day), from 11am to 8pm, Bend’s Northwest Crossing neighborhood on the west side hosts the Fest, featuring beers from at least 18 breweries and cider makers. The $20 fee gets you the tasting package of a mug and 10 tokens; additional tokens can be purchased for $5 for 4. Here is the posted brewery list:
- 10 Barrel Brewing Co.
- Boneyard Beer
- Cascade Lakes Brewing
- Craft Kitchen & Brewery
- Crux Fermentation Project.
- Deschutes Brewery
- Double Mountain

They are promising fire pits to stave off the cool weather (the forecast calls for a high of 49 degrees), and live music from singer/songwriter Zander Reese.
