3 Daughters Brewing giving away hand sanitizer to public, free beer to frontline heroes
From the Tampa Bay area, Florida: 3 Daughters Brewing (which we got a chance to visit back in 2016 for that year’s Beer Bloggers Conference) has been giving back to the community with free hand sanitizer to the public, and free beer for Florida’s frontline heroes in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The free hand sanitizer is a great option for people feeling the pressure of not being able to find it in stores. Here’s the press release about it:
In a continuing response to COVID-19, 3 Daughters Brewing is making more hand sanitizer available to the public this Friday at their brewery in St. Petersburg for free.
On Friday, the brewery located at 222 22nd St S, St. Petersburg, FL 33712 will welcome members of the public from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. This will be drive-thru only and is limited to one container per vehicle. All are still welcome to come inside and purchase to-go beer from noon until 6 p.m., as well, but they will only be giving away the hand sanitizer in their drive-thru line running through the parking lot at the front of their building on 22nd Street.
The brewery is one of the largest independently owned breweries in the state of Florida and has enormous capacity to brew beer, cider and hard seltzer. They also have a sophisticated lab with a TTB certified chemist and plenty of sanitary cleaning agents. When added with a thickening agent, the final result is a sanitizer that can be bottled and offered to the community.
“There’s no perfume or flowery smells, but it works very well as an alcohol-based hand sanitizer, and ours is free to anyone who would like to stop by,” said Mike Harting, owner of 3 Daughters Brewing. “Though our tasting room is closed by government mandate, we still want to find a way to help people during these uncertain times.”
The free hand sanitizer will be limited to one per vehicle for a limited time until supplies run out. Anyone who would like to have it can come by the brewery starting Friday from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m.
And, I have an earlier release from 3D is toasting heroes by giving free cases of beer for 50 people nominated by the public for their service during the pandemic:
3 Daughters Brewing in St. Petersburg announced Tuesday they will be giving 50 free cases of beer away to Florida Heroes on the front lines of the battle against COVID-19 between now and April 30.
“As all of us join together in fighting this disease, we raise a glass to those who are putting putting their lives on the line to keep ours intact,” said Mike Harting, owner of 3 Daughters Brewing. “We know that we’ll emerge from this a stronger and even more resilient people, and when that time comes, we’ll celebrate, together again, with cold pints and warm conversation.”
The brewery is looking to honor first responders, health care workers, grocers, janitors, postal workers, sanitation workers, and so many more. They are asking members of the public to tag @3DaughtersBrewing on Facebook or Instagram and @3dbrewing on Twitter and nominate their Florida Hero by using the hashtag #FloridaHeroes in a post about who they think should receive the case of assorted brews.
The brewery will select the Florida Heroes randomly between now and April 30. Once selected, Florida Heroes will be notified and they will be able to come to the brewery and select four six-packs to make up their case of beer.
Additionally, 3 Daughters Brewing will be honoring Florida Heroes with a special toast on their website and their cans.
“It’s really just another way we want to say thank you,” said Harting. “We’re all in this together.”
It’s the (not so) little things during this time, and while free beer might not always seem like much, it’s a great “thank you” and way to be able to give back to the community. Keep it up!
