Tsingtao has a non-alcoholic version, and I have a bottle
Tsingtao lager now comes in a non-alcoholic version, Tsingtao 0.0, extending the brand’s reach into the NA space as is being promoted as “the perfect beer for summer.” Tsingtao is the top Chinese beer import in the U.S., and the last time I reviewed the regular lager, the brand had been picked up by Paulaner USA to join its stable of imports.
According to the website, Tsingtao 0.0 has no more than 0.03% alcohol by volume, with 63 calories per serving. The description says, “Brewed and fermented with gentle alcohol removal and blending to achieve a fruity flavour with slight malty note.” I’d be curious to learn more about the “gentle alcohol removal” process and how it compares to other NA beer producers, but more information about that was not provided.
I recently received a bottle of the 0.0 to sample, adding to a growing number of new NA beers I’ve been receiving lately. It will be interesting to compare and contrast this with other NA options.
