Zupan’s latest Farm to Market beers pairs with Living Häus Beer (received)

Received: Living Häus Beer and Zupan's Markets Farm to Market Japanese-Style Lager

The latest edition of the Zupan’s Markets Farm to Market beer series sees the grocery chain paired with Living Häus Beer to offer up Japanese-Style Lager, the 29th beer in the ongoing series. The beer is available exclusively at Zupan’s locations, and I received two cans to review.

Details from the press release:

Zupan’s Markets, the family-owned gourmet grocer, is excited to announce the 29th installment of its farm-to-market beer series — a partnership with local breweries that began in 2015. For this edition, Zupan’s collaborated with Living Häus Beer Co to release an easy-drinking Japanese Style Lager. Light and crisp with floral and berry notes, the Japanese Style Lager offers a refreshing palate-cleansing finish.  Traditionally, Japanese lagers feature a high amount of flaked rice (about 20% in this case). This less fermentable rice creates a light, lower alcohol beer with a crisp body and clean finish.

The Living Häus Beer Co Japanese Style Lager is light straw yellow with a fluffy white head, and is made with Tettnang hops and Pilsner Malt. The result is a light bready aroma with notes of slightly fruity hops to the nose. With a 5.2% ABV, this lager pairs well with grilled salmon with ponzu sauce, spicy seared ahi tuna or crisp tempura vegetables served with wasabi and soy sauce.

Living Häus Beer Co is located in Portland, OR and is co-owned by Conrad Andrus and Mat Sandoval. With a combined 20 years of professional brewing experience, the business partners have become creators, engineers, scientists, artists, and critical thinkers while on their path to brew the best beers they can.

The farm-to-market brew will debut exclusively at Zupan’s Markets in 16oz cans on May 4th; priced at $3.99/can, four-packs are available for $14.99.
