Advent Beer Calendar 2013: Day 15: Corsendonk Christmas Ale
For this 15th day of December (with only 10 more days until Christmas!) our Advent beer pick for the day comes from the Belgian Brouwerij Corsendonk (whose website appears to be down at this writing but you can read a bit about the brewery here) and their Christmas Ale, a strong dark Belgian ale that comes in at 8.5% abv. Here’s what I’ve written about the beer in the past:
For this reddish brown Christmas beer, the Corsendonk brewer uses roasted special malts, the finest hops and selected yeasts, spiced up with a touch of coriander. With its delicate malty nose, Corsendonk Christmas Ale has everything only the very best Christmas beer could possibly offer: a round, balanced taste with a dry and refined aftertaste.
A lovely Yuletide beer, and one that also comes in 750ml champagne-style bottles in a lively decorated tin, perfect to slip under the tree for your resident beer lover.
