Advent Beer Calendar 2017: Day 11: La Cumbre Noche De Paz
For today’s Advent beer we travel to the American Southwest, to La Cumbre Brewing in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and their winter ale, Noche De Paz (“Silent Night”). It’s 7% alcohol by volume and brewed with spices, in the (American) classic holiday ale tradition.
Our politically-correct, non-denominational winter spiced ale is brimming with all the wonderful spirit, I mean harmony, I mean peace and goodness of the season. Rich amber color with a long-lasting dense head, this beer starts with the ripe aromas of traditional spices, we’ll let you figure out which ones. The body is creamy and smooth with dense figgy malt and a touch of molasses. The finish is malty with just enough hops to balance. Cheers to you and your during the holiday season.
Noche De Paz is draft only, which means a road trip is in order! And perhaps this is a bit campy, but I think enjoying several pints of Noche De Paz at the taproom while “Silent Night” plays for Christmas music sounds pretty great.
