December 6 is both Saint Nicholas Day and the day that Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer first aired on TV in 1964, so I thought it was only fitting to go with a reindeer-themed beer for today’s Advent pick: Reindeer’s Revenge from the Iron Hill Brewery chain of brewpubs and restaurants. Billed as an “American Tripel,” the beer is 9% ABV and 60 IBUs:

A hopped twist on a Belgian Tripel, this beer boasts strong notes of pine and grapefruit, a touch of bitterness, and a sweet, warming finish. Why should the other reindeer get all the glory? This one’s going down in history too.

The beer is available on draft as well as in cans and would be the perfect accompaniment to the Rudolph TV special in all its stop-motion oddball glory.
