The Brew SiteAdvent Beer Calendar 2018: Day 2: Reuben’s Brews Holiday Gose
For this second day of December, we visit Seattle, Washington, the home of Reuben’s Brews, which is not only launching it’s 2019 seasonal gose lineup early with today’s featured beer, Holiday Gose, but which also happens to be hosting its own Advent Beer Calendar with a series of daily promotions!
Let’s talk about today’s beer first, the Holiday Gose. The base Gose, first released in 2015, has won multiple GABF gold medals. 2019 will feature a new lineup of seasonal goses throughout the year, and Holiday Gose kicks it all off:
Wrapped up in its iconic ugly holiday sweater-inspired packaging, this cranberry-orange Gose is a far cry from the season’s standard dark and brooding brews.
The newly released 2018 Holiday Gose is fermented with the brewery’s house lactobacillus culture and includes more than 10 pounds of cranberries per barrel, sweet orange zest, a touch of coriander and a hint of sea salt. The perfect pairing for rich holiday fare, this beer will be available in four-packs of twelve-ounce cans and on draft.
Holiday Gose is 4.3% alcohol by volume and sounds like a deliciously different take on a holiday ale.
Now, about that other Beer Advent Calendar?
Reuben’s Brews gets into the holiday season as it brings back its Advent Beer Calendar beginning on December 1st. Visit the brewery’s Taproom in Seattle and grab a Advent Beer Calendar Punch Card with a $1.00 suggested donation and then receive a punch for each pint, crowler, or growler you purchase of its featured beers. Each day the brewery will choose a new beer from December 1st through the 24th via Instagram and Facebook. Then for every six punches you’ll receive Reuben’s Brews gear and swag. Get punches for all 24 Advent Calendar beers and you’ll be entered in a drawing for the Grand Prize.
All proceeds from the card donations will go to Wellspring Family Services, a Seattle-based charity that we are partnering with this December.
I love this idea and would love to see more breweries do this during December! Reuben’s features a wide range of beers on tap which should make this a lively Advent calendar all month long.
