It’s now less than two weeks until Christmas and we’re at the halfway point in the Advent beer calendar! Now is the time during all the holiday prep and shopping and running around that it can be a bit of a daze. So it’s time to slow down for a minute and enjoy today’s beer pick: Saranac Brewery’s Holidaze Haze IPA.

Saranac Brewery is under the F.X. Matt Brewing umbrella, located in Utica, New York. The company has been brewing beer since 1888 and is best know for its Utica Club lager and Saranac line of beers.

Holidaze Haze is billed as “An unfiltered, soft and juicy IPA brewed with Centennial, Calypso, Citra, and Galaxy hops for flavors of citrus and tropical fruit.” It’s 6% ABV and 40 IBUs and is just the thing to relax for a hazy holiday break. As a hazy/juicy IPA I’d suggest pairing Holidaze Haze with gumdrops, sugarplums, or candied orange peel before getting back into the swing of things. Cheers!
