Advent Beer Calendar 2019: Day 16: Fremont Winter Ale
Located in the Fremont neighborhood of Seattle, Washington, Fremont Brewing Company was established in 2009 and has experienced explosive growth over the past decade. Fremont currently has three locations (two breweries and a taproom) and brews some of the Pacific Northwest’s most coveted beers. Each winter the brewery releases its Winter Ale, which is today’s Advent beer pick.
This is a tasty Winter Ale to snuggle up to, released for the winter months when snow blankets the terrain of the mind and the body craves warmth and, let’s be honest, it’s dark and wet most of the time so your beer better be damn good. Winter Ale is dark like the weather with roast chocolate and warm malt flavors balanced by Noble hop aroma and subtle hoppy spice. Warm up to it. Because Beer Matters!
Fremont Winter Ale is a hefty 8% alcohol by volume and loaded with spicy and complex flavors suitable for bracing against the winter chill. This is one to look for and stock up on—you’ll want more in the cellar as we go into the winter months after the holidays.
