Advent Beer Calendar 2022: Day 12: Lucky Envelope Gingerbread Cream Stout
Today’s Advent beer pick takes us to Seattle, Washington, to a brewery that opened in 2015 that offers up a diverse variety of beers—Lucky Envelope Brewing. The winter seasonal is, like several others featured so far this month, inspired by holiday baked goods: Gingerbread Cream Stout.
This stout is 6% alcohol by volume and flirts with “pastry stout” status; the brewery describes it as such:
Forget cookies, Santa will want a pint of this sweet, spice-filled Gingerbread Cream Stout on Christmas Eve. Our rich, roasty cream stout base was brewed with gingerbread spices, vanilla, lactose, and real blackstrap molasses to create this quintessential holiday treat.
Gingerbread Cream Stout is a beer you’ll want to have on hand to accompany your holiday baking, not to mention pairing with those cookies and goodies being whipped up. The spice blend itself isn’t revealed, but gingerbread (the dessert) can include not just ginger but cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg as well, so open a can for the warming embrace of holiday spices and Christmastime cookies.
