On this day in 1946, the seminal Christmas film It’s a Wonderful Life debuted, telling the story of George Bailey being saved by guardian angel Clarence on Christmas Eve. As a nod to the movie, today’s Advent beer pick is It’s A Wonderful Ale, from New Jersey’s Glasstown Brewing.

It’s A Wonderful Ale is a spiced ale with 6.5% alcohol by volume, and contains lactose. The description says:

It’s the most wonderful time for a beer! Our iconic holiday spiced ale is back! It’s A Wonderful Ale is medium-bodied & brewed with cinnamon, vanilla, allspice, nutmeg, & graham.
*If you’re looking to spice it up a little, ask for the cinnamon sugar rim!

I don’t know if drinking this beer will help an angel get their wings, but I suppose it couldn’t hurt, either. But it’s sure to be a spicy holiday treat!
