Even though “Advent” is a Christian-based convention surround the Christmas holiday, I like to fill out this Beer Advent Calendar with all manner of holiday beers—sort of the “Happy Holidays” greeting for the season, if you will. (Which is absolutely appropriate and in no way detracts from saying “Merry Christmas” or “Happy Hanukkah” or “Joyous Kwanzaa” or whatever your preference is.)

This year, New Belgium Brewing of Colorado had the same idea, and introduced its Holiday Ale as its new seasonal beer, which is today’s Advent pick. Holiday Ale is a winter warmer with 7.5% ABV that brings the “flavors of cranberry and orange, cinnamon and spice” to enjoy throughout the season. The brewery introduced the beer on Facebook:

No, I won’t be highlighting Wear a Plunger on Your Head Day, but I will have some beers this month commemorating other notable days as we celebrate the holidays throughout December. In the meantime, pick up some Holiday Ale to accompany the festivities and raise a glass for a very happy holidays!
