The state of Colorado has no shortage of craft breweries offering festive holiday beers, and for today we have a big one from 6 and 40 Brewery of Lakewood, Christmas Tree Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Stout, a warming ale with 11.2% alcohol by volume that spent a fair amount of time in barrels. The description says:

Aged 15 months in Buffalo Trace bourbon barrels, this big beer has a huge chocolate flavor with notes of vanilla and tobacco from the wood aging.

If you haven’t put up or decorated your Christmas tree yet, this would be a fun beer to sip on while doing so. I imagine the wood aged character of the beer would pair well with the tree (the aroma of the tree, not the flavor, though I suppose if you really wanted to taste the tree…) as well as bring a festive spirit overall. Or, just place a few bottles under the tree in the same spirit!
