For today’s Advent beer, I’ve selected one from the state of Vermont, which I’ve somehow missed in all the years of doing this calendar—a classic winter/Scottish ale from Long Trail Brewing, Hibernator. It’s just the type of beer you’ll want to help keep you warm for the holiday and into the winter months. The description says:

Don’t sleep on this rich, robust winter classic.

A Vermont classic, built to take the bite from a cold winter night with the rich malt base highlighted by warming notes of caramel and toffee.

It’s not too strong at 6% alcohol by volume, but that’s enough for a warming glass (or two) by the fire, and a great warm-up for the holiday—after all, we’re only a week away from Christmas now! Grab some Hibernator to put under the tree but also some extra to get you through the season. Cheers!
