For today’s Advent beer pick we’re heading to Austin, Texas to visit Southern Heights Brewing. During the winter months Southern Heights offers up a Russian imperial stout named Hoodie Weather, a beefy ale brewed with vanilla, chocolate, and coffee, and weighing in at 10.31% alcohol by volume. The description says:
Brewed with cocoa nibs and vanilla beans from Revolution Spirits, dark chocolate from TCHO Chocolate, and topping it off with coffee from the rad folks over at Red Horn.
While it’s debatable how cold it gets in Austin during the winter—cold enough to need a hoodie?—you’ll stay plenty warm with Hoodie Weather. It’s a perfect holiday nightcap, and with the coffee addition it would make a lovely breakfast beer as well—just the thing to sip on Christmas morning. Cheers!
