Advent Beer Calendar 2008: Day 1: Red Hill Christmas Ale
It’s December again and that means I’m running my annual Advent Beer Calendar! Each day of the month I pick a Christmas or similar seasonally-themed beer and blog about it, counting down the days until Christmas, advent calendar-style. It’s a fun tradition I’ve got going here that I look forward to as the end of the year rolls around.
This first day I picked Red Hill Christmas Ale from Australia’s Red Hill Brewery. Of this 7.5% beer, they write:
This strong Belgian abbey styled ale is one of the brewery’s most highly awarded (Silver Medal AIBA 08, Bronze medal AIBA 06 & 07) and requested. Deep orange in colour with a lasting creamy head. Spicy hop aroma from our own Hallertauer & Tettnanger hop flowers with a complex malty finish.
Christmas cheer from down under!
