Bend Bands & Brewers Bash debuts this weekend, June 28-29
This weekend, on Friday, June 28 and Saturday, June 29, Silver Moon Brewing and Grand Craft Bend are hosting the inaugural Bend Bands & Brewers Bash, a collaboration event between breweries and bands to create beers inspired by how the various bands’ music sounds. 10 pairs of bands and breweries in all will present their creations over the two days, and it looks like quite a lineup.
Tickets are available for purchase online here. Here are the details from the press release, which includes ticket prices, the bands, breweries, and more:
Breweries Collaborate with Bands to Create Beers that “Taste Like Their Music Sounds”
The inaugural “Bend Bands & Brewers Bash” is a unique celebration of Central Oregon’s liquid and musical arts. The two-day festival will feature a total of 10 breweries collaborating with 10 bands (five per day) performing two-way collaborations. First, the brewers devise beers in partnership with respective bands to compose beers designed to taste like their music sounds. Additionally, someone from each brewery will perform on stage with the musical acts to complete the dual collab. The event takes place at Silver Moon Brewing (24 NW Greenwood Ave.) on Fri, June 28 and Sat., June 29 from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. Single-day tickets are available online for $25 and two- day passes are available for $40 along with single-day VIP tickets for $55 at Bendticket/events/BBBB. (General Admission tickets will be $35 at the gate.) G.A. passes include a pint of Silver Moon beer while VIP passes include two pints and entry to the green room to hang with both bands and brewers.
Event creator and producer Brian Yaeger writes about both beer and music and hosts the Grand Craft Bend podcast. Yaeger has written about the overlapping of the two art forms and how bands’ commonly perform on four or more instruments akin to how brewers design beers with four or more ingredients. It doesn’t hurt that most musicians love beer as much as most brewers love music so artists from both camps are equally excited for this distinctive collaborative effort.
All 10 beers will be available at Silver Moon both days of the festival and will be discussed live on stage as part of each artist’s performance (that, again, will feature at least one song accompanied by a brewer). The line-up is as follows:
