Cascade Lakes Brewing releases Pawsitive IPA benefitting BrightSide Animal Center
For the third year in a row, Cascade Lakes Brewing has released its Pawsitive IPA (previously Pale Ale) to support BrightSide Animal Center of Redmond. The brewery hosted its release party for the brew this past Sunday, and a portion of the proceeds from the beer sales will benefit the animal shelter.
Details from the release:
A beer to benefit human’s best friend, a portion of event proceeds and sales of Pawsitive IPA will be donated to BrightSide
Cascade Lakes Brewing Co. is re-releasing Pawsitive IPA into the wild and inviting Central Oregon to come let the dogs out to celebrate at the Third Annual Pups on the Patio, Sunday, July 24, at the 7th Street pub in Redmond. The release party will run from noon-8 p.m. $1 from every pint of Pawsitive IPA and a portion of merchandise, and raffle tickets from the event will directly benefit BrightSide Animal Center.
The limited release of the 2022 Pawsitive IPA (6.1%, 60 IBUs) will mark the third consecutive year that Cascade Lakes has produced the easy-drinking, delightfully balanced IPA. Last year, Pawsitive helped raise nearly $1,000 for BrightSide. Like its predecessors, the 2022 version features an aroma of light pine melded with hints of citrus and coconut, brewed for beer and dog lovers alike.
The Pups on the Patio event promises to put some fun into the dog days of summer, too. Not only will attendees get the first tastes of Pawsitive IPA, but they will also meet BrightSide’s adoptable dogs. From noon-3 p.m. BrightSide Animal Center’s adoptable four-legged friends will be center stage, hoping to find a forever home and a scratch behind the ears. And with room for beer pals, dog pals and kids, this event will have a little something for everyone, including cornhole, live music, food, complimentary pet portraits, and raffles and prizes.
This year’s event will raise funds for BrightSide’s efforts to modernize its spay and neutering program with new surgical equipment.
“The return of Pawsitive IPA is something we all look forward to because it brings together two things we care deeply about: a great beer and an even better cause. We like to say that it will make you feel good while doing good,” said Andy Rhine, general manager of Cascade Lakes Brewing Co., whose production facility is also based in Redmond. “Having the rescue pets at our 7th Street Pub during the Pups on the Patio event is now a highlight of our summer, too. Our partnership with BrightSide, and the community support behind it, continues to be a source of pride for Cascade Lakes.”
Always mindful of balancing community and commerce, Cascade Lakes Brewing Co. sees the opportunity to support BrightSide Animal Center as a natural extension of their business. Based in Redmond, BrightSide Animal Center’s mission is to provide sheltering, placement, and prevention services to reduce animal homelessness and unnecessary euthanasia. The brewery’s deep appreciation of four-legged friends and BrightSide Animal Center’s cause laid the groundwork for the release of the first Pawsitive IPA, in 2020. For more than 10 years, Cascade Lakes Brewing Co. has supported BrightSide Animal Center, hosting a series of fundraising efforts and events, including a weekly bingo night.
