Craftwell Cocktails: Peach Mojito, apple wine-based canned cocktail
The latest cocktail to join the Craftwell Cocktails lineup (the premium canned cocktail brand from 2 Towns Ciderhouse) is Peach Mojito, introduced earlier this year. These cocktails are created with an apple wine as the base alcohol, and blended with real fruit to achieve the various flavors, and Peach Mojito is made with peaches, key lime, and mint to recreate the classic Cuban punch.
The company sent me samples of Peach Mojito to review. Like the others in its portfolio (which you can read about here), it’s 10.5% alcohol by volume and is ready to drink right from the can, no additional mixing or doctoring required. So let’s dig in.
A mojito typically has five ingredients: white rum, lime juice, sugar, mint, and soda water. With this one, the peach adds a dimension to the classic ingredients while also providing some sugar; the website’s description-blurb says:
Like summer in a glass, the Peach Mojito cocktail radiates with ripe, delectable PNW peaches, a fresh garden mint high kick, and a snappy key lime finish.

My notes:
It’s a hazy (“fuzzy”) golden yellow color, translucent, one might say the color of peach juice. It’s got a bright aroma, I’d almost call it sunny, with fresh peaches, a bit of mint, some spicy alcohol, and a touch of earthy fruit skins. There’s definitely fresh peach in the flavor, sweet and juicy, with a tangy note of mint syrup and a bit of alcohol that reminds me a bit of peach schnapps. There’s a hint of citrus/lime but it’s mild, and some essence of rum-like character. Overall it’s pretty good but I’m far from a mojito aficionado so I can’t really say how accurate this might be in capturing the mojito experience.
