Festival weekend
There are a bunch of beer festivals taking place this weekend, and today in particular, across Oregon; here’s a roundup if you don’t already have beer plans today.
Hood River Hops Fest: The big one taking place starting at noon in Hood River, featuring more than 60(!) fresh hop beers—more in one location than any other place at one time, maybe ever. $10 for the glass and 4 tokens, $1 per token after that.
Sisters Fresh Hop Festival: Taking place in Sisters starting at noon, and one I’m attending. 17 breweries on hand pouring beer. $5 for the glass, and $1 per tasting ticket.
Hop & Heritage Fest: A fiesta-styled event over in Independence in a hop yard, starting at noon and ending with fireworks at 9pm.
CRUXtoberfest: All weekend long Crux Fermentation Project in Bend is holding their spin on Oktoberfest, featuring three fresh hop beers, a Märzen/Oktoberfest (plus plenty more beers) food specials and lots of live music.
Septoberfest: Seven Brides Brewing in Silverton hosts this annual festival, hosting 18 Oregon breweries and offering up live music and more, benefiting Brides Against Cancer.
Vertigo 5th Anniversary Party: Vertigo Brewing out in Hillsboro is turning five, and they’ll have a special Super Dude Imperial Stout, Tropical Heat Wave, and Fresh Hop Ale on tap for the event.
Occidental Oktoberfest: Occidental Brewing in Portland—who specialize in brewing German-styled lagers—starts at noon and goes all day: “We will again have live music, food from Urban German, and of course, 2013 Festbier! Also, Brewvana Brewery Tours will be operating a FREE shuttle for us, running from the brewery to Lloyd Center and back, all day! This year all beer will be drank from glass, as we have souvenir .5L mugs! $10 gets you your mug and first beer, all subsequent beers will be $4, as always.”
