Go Time (Worthy Brewing)
“Go Time” in this case refers to “Go Time Xtra Pale Ale,” the very first beer brewed by Bend’s Worthy Brewing which hit the taps at a few select places this past Friday. So, Friday after work we headed over to the Broken Top Bottle Shop to grab some dinner and try this first beer.
You can see it’s a bright copper color with a creamy head. Not sure I myself would have called it an “extra” pale—that would be something reserved for very light in color, like a cream ale or pilsner might be—but it’s definitely a Northwest Pale Ale with a bright, crisp hop snap and juice notes. (This is the beer they brewed when I visited.)
Not much more to report, other than it’s a solid, tasty “calibration brew” that I’d be pleased to call a first beer. I don’t know how long this will last, so be sure to get some if you can; here’s a list of the places I know have it on tap (or will soon):
- Broken Top Bottle Shop (Bend)
- Platypus Pub (Bend)
- Local Slice (Bend)
- Longboard Louie’s East (Bend)
- APEX (Portland)
- Horse Brass (Portland)
- Belmont Station (Portland)
- County Cork (Portland)
- Roscoe’s (Portland)
- Higgins (Portland)
