Five Beer Releases Featuring Original Illustrations Aimed to Support WNC Charities

Asheville’s original craft brewery announces a new series of beers supporting area non-profits. Over the next five months, Highland will release one beer per month with a party highlighting the work of one of the collaborating non-profits. These brews were inspired by the missions of the brewery’s five long-standing community partners. Each beer features an original crowler label illustration by local designer, Jenny Fares of Sound Mind Creative.

The lineup of events will include:

“We initially developed the Pints with Purpose program in 2019 to structure our charitable giving. By focusing on these five leading local charitable organizations, we have seen greater impact of our gifts through bolstered donations and real connections between our team and the work and people of these non-profits” said Eeva Redmond, Highland’s Communications Manager.

She continued, “This Pints with Purpose series has been a true collaboration ‑ from reviewing Jenny’s sketches to planning each release party to highlight the stories and mission of our partners. This series of brews represent five years of crafted connections that we can’t wait to share with everyone”.

The first beer release is Mountain Chaser Pale Ale. The party at the brewery taproom is on April 24 from 12-5 PM. It will highlight the work of Southern Appalachian Highlands Conservancy (SAHC) and kick off the whole series. There will be a scavenger hunt on Highland’s trails curated by SAHC, guided walks with Highland’s natural resources team, live music, and the first Meadow Market of the summer.

A portion of the proceeds from all draft and crowler sales at both Highland taprooms will benefit the non-profits. These beers are taproom exclusives and will be released sequentially. Each beer is anticipated to run out before the next one becomes available. Additional donation opportunities will be available at the release events and online throughout the five months of the campaign. To learn more, visit highlandbrewing.com/community.

First kickoff is in a few days; be sure to grab a crowler or two at least over the next month to help support this program.
