Hop trippin’
Sorry for no news post today; I had the opportunity to ride over with someone from Deschutes Brewery to Goschie Farms to pick up 50 pounds of fresh hops for a specialty beer being released in a bit over a month. That necessitated leaving at 7am for the two-and-a-half hour drive over to Silverton and took up a good chunk of my day.
The beer, a fresh hop pale ale, is the brainchild of Toby Nolan, who manages the Deschutes tasting room, and we picked up fresh Centennial hops for it. They are certified Salmon-Safe and ultimately proceeds from sales of the beer will benefit local waterways and fish. I’ll have more on that in some upcoming stories.
