New head brewer at Three Creeks: Zach Beckwith
Changes are afoot in the Central Oregon brewing scene: Three Creeks Brewing has a new head brewer, Zach Beckwith, formerly of Pints Brewing in Portland (who he was only with for a few months; Ezra reported the news first). Prior to Pints, Beckwith also brewed at Oak Creek Brewing in Arizona and New Old Lompoc in Portland, and you might recall last month that he brought down some Pints brews to the Platypus Pub for a tasting here in Bend. (I’d stopped by to say hello, he’s an incredibly nice guy but didn’t give any indication that he was joining Three Creeks at the time, so this was definitely a surprising move.)
Also joining the Three Creeks team as assistant brewer is Terry Butler, who previously worked with the original Wild Duck Brewery in Eugene, Oregon Trail Brewery, Rogue and Aspen Brewing.
And what about former Three Creeks brewer Pat O’Shea (aka “Patio”)? He was hired on with Bend’s Crux Fermentation Project and will be working under Larry Sidor.
