Oregon Beer News — 01/19/2021
One day left! I’m sure many of us are counting the hours at this point. To help you get through the day, here’s news in the Oregon beer world for Tuesday, January 19. I’ll be updating this post occasionally throughout the afternoon with the latest news as I find it, so keep checking back for more. Cheers!
New January brews from Ex Novo
Portland’s Ex Novo Brewing (which also has a location in New Mexico) has had a busy January so far, releasing several new canned beers, all available for shipping and delivery as well as local pick-up. Among the news beers are Blue Bucket of Gold (dry-hopped pilsner), Where the Mild Things Are (4.1% English dark mild), Pastel Polo (key lime pastry sour), and several beers from the NM brewery. And about the delivery and shipping:
Thirsty and can’t make it to our pubs? This is your reminder that we offer next-day beer delivery to the Portland Metro area (with a new expanded delivery zone, swipe left!) and can ship our beer directly to select states! This is just a fraction of the beers available for you to order through our website to receive at your doorstep.
There’s a fair number of states the brewery can ship to.
Bevel’s CDA is back on tap
Bevel Craft Brewing of Bend has tapped a new batch of its Black Ace, its original CDA, in time for the brewery’s Locals Day ($4 pints). The Locals Day pints can be enjoyed on the outdoor patio area (no indoor dining yet), or better yet—to go in crowlers and growlers that you can order online for pickup, delivery, and shipping within Oregon.
Oregon Fruit Products launches canned fruit for homebrewers
Exciting news for homebrewers (yay!) from Oregon Fruit Products, via Brewpublic: The company brings its line of aseptic fruit purees widely used by commercial brewers to home and small-scale brewing size. 16 varieties of fruit are initially available in shelf-stable 49-ounce cans. Part of the press release from Brewpublic:
Oregon Fruit has been servicing the craft and commercial brewing industry for over 20 years with its Fruit Purees. The new canned puree line provides homebrewers and beverage makers the same level of quality as larger-scale operators, but in a convenient smaller format and without the work or the worry of introducing inconsistencies that sometimes comes with using fresh or frozen fruit.
Oregon Fruit Canned Fruit Purees consist of real fruit, minimally processed to a smooth texture to ensure the best fresh fruit flavor, aroma, and color. They contain no added sugar or preservatives and are pasteurized and canned for shelf stability for up to 18 months.

This release is Strawberry Banana, 5% ABV, that’s been “Conditioned on strawberry puree, banana puree, and vanilla.” Pickup is Friday and Saturday, with strict covid protocols in place so be prepared.
