Oregon Beer News, 01/28/2014
Here is the news in beer from around Oregon for Tuesday, the 28th of January. As usual, I’ll be periodically updating this post throughout the day, so check back often for the latest news. If you have news to share, please contact me and I can get that updated as well.
Oakshire Brewing (Eugene): They have a new Single Batch beer going on tap today: “Whether you’re hosting or attending the Super bowl party next Sunday: we’ve got a Single Batch release for you! Our Snowbowl APA is an American Pale Ale brewed in honor of the first Super Bowls played outdoors in cold weather cities – Available for corny and growler fills at our Public House starting [this] Tuesday, 1/28.”
Belmont Station (Portland) today is hosting the Oregon launch party for Washington’s Orlison Brewing, from 5 to 8pm: “If you haven’t heard of Orlison Brewing, don’t fret; you will. Brewing exclusively lager beers under the slogan, “Brew No Evil” this Airway Heights, Wash., brewery has been pushing the lager limits and creating award-winning beers. A few of the Orlison team will be on hand to help launch their beers in Oregon, including brewer Mark Borland! We will be pouring a few of their luscious lagers in the biercafe and holding a tasting of their canned beers in the bottle shop to give them a big Oregon welcome!”
Cascade Brewing (Portland): Tonight’s Tap It Tuesday at the Barrel House at 6pm sounds a bit crazy: featuring “Live” Marshmallow Apples. Yep. “a blend of strong blonds and blonds that were aged with vanilla and spices. Aromas of marshmallow and tart apple skins spill from the glass as you draw it near. The tart apple skins call to mind bright Granny Smith apples followed by creamy marshmallow and cereal notes on the palate. The finish is of tart apple flesh and creamy marshmallow and vanillin. Don’t worry, no apples were harmed in the making of this beer!”
