Happy Hump Day! Here are some newsy tidbits in Oregon beer for this first Wednesday in February. Caves Bier & Kitchen (Corvallis) is hosting Portland’s Royale Brewing tonight from 5 to 7pm for their monthly beer tasting series: “We’ll have five of their beers on tap, paired up with small plates from our kitchen! We’ll have a representative here to chat beers with you, including our former Block 15 brewer Neil, who is now part of the Royale family! The fun starts at 5! Lineup: Inspektor Red, Nitro Red Ale; Coffee Belgian Blonde Ale; Devil’s Horse, Imperial Stout; Royale IPA, NW Style IPA; and Royale Pilsner.”

The Bier Stein (Eugene) is hosting 2 Towns Ciderhouse for the release of their Pacific Pineapple Cider:”Swing by to celebrate the release of 2 Towns Pacific Pineapple Cider on Wednesday, February 7th. After a 2 year search to find the perfect pineapples, this delightful beverage is finally here, featuring Costa Rican Gold Pineapples! 2 Towns pressed high tannin apples to balance the sweetness as each serving is 1/3 pineapple juice. Free samples and swag to patrons 21 and over. Tropical dress is encouraged!” That’s taking place from 5 to 8pm tonight.

Portland’s Hopworks Urban Brewery is releasing a new NE-style IPA today, Venn Diagram Imperial Guava NEIPA. “Venn Diagram is an Imperial New England-Style IPA brewed with guava. It’s dry hopped with Denali and Idaho 7 hops, and El Dorado hop hash for a big tropical citrus hop hit. Available in very limited draft and 16oz four packs beginning February 7. 4 packs are $20 each with no limit. Crowlers will be available at the Powell and Vancouver pubs for $15 each.” They only released 40 cases to their three pub locations, so you’d better act fast if you want to get any.

Vertigo Brewing (Hillsboro) has a new beer being tapped today: “Some of our long time customers may remember our Peter Piper Picked a Pepper Porter. This is our MVP (AKA Arctic Blast) infused with Habanero and Serrano peppers. A decidedly warm beer. Tapped and ready for you pepper beer lovers. Taproom opens at 4:00.”

Coldfire Brewing (Eugene) is pouring Pints for Science today from 4 to 9pm: “Join us Wednesday February 7th at Coldfire Brewing Company for Pints for Science! From 4pm to 9pm, $1 from every pint sold will go to support the Eugene Science Center (formerly Science Factory) and Hands-on Science Education for our community. Come down and enjoy quality craft beers while supporting a great local cause Science Center Educators will be on hand from 5pm to 8pm with hands on activities for kids and adults alike. Cheers!”

Rogue Ales Eastside Pub in Portland has their Green Dragon Brew Crew release today, featuring Belgian Groundhog Ale: “Join us as we celebrate the venerable-varmint, vernal prognosticator, the Green Dragon Brewers are pleased to offer Belgian Groundhog Ale, to ameliorate the furry forecast of yet another six weeks of Winter ’18.
