Oregon Beer News, 02/26/2014
Happy Hump Day and I hope your Wednesday is going well! Here is the Oregon beer news for February 26. As usual, I’ll be periodically updating this post throughout the day, so check back often. And if you have news to share, please contact me and I can get that updated as well.
McMenamins Old St. Francis School (Bend) has their monthly O’Kanes Cask Series Release today starting at 5pm featuring a special cask of Rise Up Red IRA (the company’s winter seasonal): “And with that here at OSF we have incorporated this ale into our Firkin keg for a special night! Stuffed with American Oak chips that were soaked in our Pot Still Brandy we hope that this subtle dry ending to such a wonderful ale will inspire all to Rise Up and enjoy life!” The cask will last until it’s gone.
The Bier Stein (Eugene): Tonight they are hosting Washington’s Schilling Cider for a tasting from 6 to 9pm: “Come sample some more of the Northwest’s cider! Schilling cider is a small craft cidery based in Seattle, and uses all local apples in their concoctions. Schilling rep Emily will be on hand with samples of all three of their ciders: Apple, Ginger, and Oak-Aged, plus we’ll have their Apple cider on tap.”
PFriem Family Brewers (Hood River) has a new beer release going on tap tonight starting at 5;30pm: “@ 5:30PM we’ll be ringing the bell w/ Dan the Man for our NEW pFriem Hefeweizen! Oh my, fresh banana, lemon meriague & clove. It’s practically Spring in a glass folks! 5.5% 12 IBU’s”
