Oregon Beer News, 03/07/2012
Here’s the Oregon beer news for Wednesday, the 7th of March. I will be periodically updating this news post throughout the day so if you have some news to share, please contact me and I can post it.
Natian Brewery (Portland) is partnering with Portland restaurant Aquariva for a Brewers Dinner tonight, featuring four courses of eclectic Italian-inspired fare paired with Natian’s ales. The owner of Natian will be on hand pouring beer and answering questions as well. Cost is $45 and it starts at 7pm tonight; call 503-802-5850 for reservations.
Solera Brewery (Parkdale) is debuting their beer in Portland tonight and tomorrow (even though the brewery isn’t open yet!). Tonight Solera Brewmaster Jason Kahler is hitting the Cheese Bar for DJ Night and pouring Hedonist IPA starting at 6pm. Tomorrow night he’ll be at Saraveza for the night.
Alameda Brewing (Portland) is having a free tasting and meet the brewer at Beerworks in Medford tonight from 5 to 7pm, with Brewer Carston Haney on hand pouring and talking about the beers. As an additional special, “We will also have a keg of Yellow Wolf Imperial IPA on tap for the event. All Alameda beers are 10% off to-go during the tasting.”
And then tomorrow night, Alameda is the featured brewery at Bella Union’s Oysters and Ales dinner in Jacksonville: “Featured beer or ale on tap at a special price, oysters available any way you like them; cooked, over cooked, barely cooked or raw!”
The Green Dragon (Portland) is having a Green Dragon Brew Crew Release tonight from 5 to 8pm, featuring Not Yo’ Mama’s Oatmeal Stout: ” With a dry finish, a subtle bitterness, and an underlying hint of flaked oats, this is not your typical Oatmeal Stout. Magnum and Willamettte hops counter the sweetness of the Maris Otter and Caramel malt base, leaving you with sip after sip of delicately balanced flavor and a touch of roastiness that will keep you coming back for more.”
Lompoc Brewing (Portland) is having “Night of the Living Red” at their Sidebar tonight from 4 to 10pm, featuring all “red” beers in some way or another: “Enjoy Cherry Bomb, 2010 Franc’ly Brewdolph, Roggen Roll Rye, 2011 Fresh Hop Harvestman Red, 2011 Dagda & Proletariat Red.”
Venti’s Tap House (Salem) is hosting New Belgium Brewing for a special night of tasting from 6 to 9pm: “We will be hosting a night of New Belgium featured beers, most on draft like:
La Folie, Coco Mole, Biere De Mars, Trip 11 Farmhouse Ale, Dig pale ale, Prickly Passion Saison, and a very special Fresh Hopped Snow Day Firkin keg. Of which we will be tapping that night.” Fantastic lineup, definitely the place to be in the state capitol tonight!
