Happy Hump Day for this Wednesday, April 6! Hope your week is going well. Here’s the news in Oregon beer; as usual, I’ll be periodically updating this post throughout the day with the latest news, so check back often for updates. And if you have news to share, please contact me and I can get that updated as well.
Lompoc Brewing (Portland) is holding their Hip Hop IPA Night today at the Lompoc Tavern starting at 4pm; the latest in their series of themed IPAs which are always fun. “Lompoc is known for doing themed IPA series; past themes have included spies, baseball, classic rock, science fiction and more. According to head brewer Bryan Keilty, ‘If someone suggests a them and it sounds like fun, we’ll do it!'” On tap tonight will be five beers: World Class Wreckin Brew, Mama Said Hop You Out, Hotel Motel Holiday Inn, MCA IPA, and Hopster’s Paradise.
And also announced today, Lompoc is releasing two of its popular IPAs in six-pack; from the press release: “For the first time in its 20-year history, Lompoc Brewing has released six-pack carriers with 12 oz. longneck bottles, featuring Pamplemousse Citrus IPA and C-Note IPA. Mobile Bottling Source did a first run of 17,000 bottles at Lompoc’s Fifth Quadrant Brewery on March 24, and the six-packs have recently begun appearing on store shelves throughout Oregon and Washington. The six-packs will complement, not replace, Lompoc’s current lineup of 22-oz bottles.”
