Oregon Beer News, 06/19/2012
Here’s the Oregon beer news for Tuesday, June 19, the last official day of spring. As usual, I’ll be periodically updating this post throughout the day as I find additional news, so check back often for the latest updates. And if you have news you would like to share, please contact me and I can get it updated.
New brewery websites abound! Recently we’ve seen the launch of The Ale Apothacary‘s official site, and GoodLife Brewing just redesigned their site, and I saw just last night that Hair of the Dog has also just launched a new website—this one is perhaps the most notable because HOTD was still using their original 90s-era website up until this new one. The new one is looking really nice and I particularly like the current taplist right there on the front page.
Cascade Brewing (Portland): Tonight’s Tap It Tuesday tasting at 6pm features Cran-Apple Crisp (you have to love these dessert-sounding beers): “This NW-style sour beer is a crisp, refreshing blend of beers that were barrel aged for seven to 12 months. Bright, sweet aromas of cranberries and apples are noticed up front. A light tartness of ripe berries and fruit sweetness intermingles on the palate, giving way to a light, sparkling bite of cranberries and apples in the finish. 9.2% ABV, $6.50 a glass.”
Silver Moon Brewing (Bend): They’ve shaken up their Growler Power Hour a bit this week: instead of offering two beers both Tuesday and Wednesday from 4 to 6pm for $6 growler fills, they’re offering one beer each day. (Because they’re so busy keeping up with demand.) So, today’s GPH special is for Lincoln Lager, and Wednesday it will be Snake Bite Porter. Go fill up your growlers!
