Oregon Beer News, 06/21/2012
Here’s the news in Oregon beer for Thursday the 21st of June. As usual I’ll be periodically updating this post throughout the day with news as I find it, so check back often for the latest news. And if you have news to share, please contact me and I can get that updated as well.
The Green Dragon (Portland): Tonight they are hosting a meet the brewer with Portland’s own Sasquatch Brewing, one of Stumptown’s newest breweries on the scene. The beers will be tapped at 5pm and the meet the brewer portion of the evening starts at 6; no word yet on what’s being poured but they list a Pale Ale and a couple of IPA currently so that’s a safe bet.
GoodLife Brewing (Bend): Yesterday they were in Portland, and today they are pouring beers in Corvallis at Suds & Suds. Brewer Curt Plants will be on hand to talk about the beers and the good life in Bend (har) and they’ll be pouring Descender IPA, Mountain Rescue Pale Ale, Comatose IIPA, 29′er India Brown Ale, Sweet As Pacific Ale and “potentially one more beer that has yet to leave the brewery.” Check them out!
Raccoon Lodge (Portland): Befitting the start of summer, the west Portland outpost for Cascade Brewing has their beer garden open! It’s looking good too: you can see they’ve posted the picture to their Facebook page. Where else would you rather be right now than a beer garden?
McMenamins Roseburg Station (Roseburg): Apparently they hadn’t been brewing beer for awhile, as McMenamins posted on Facebook today: “Roseburg brewed beer is back at McMenamins. After a three month hiatus to recover from a knee injury, brewer Tom Johnson has returned to the brewery. Diamond IPA is now on. The Ruby, Hammerhead and Terminator will soon be locally produced again as well. Also watch for the pending return of Whistlers Wheat and Half Shell Golden Ale in the next couple of weeks.”
