Oregon Beer News, 06/26/2017
Happy Monday, I hope everyone survived the heat! Here’s the news for this final week of June. As usual, I’ll be periodically updating this post throughout the day with the latest news as I find it, so check back often. If you have news to share, please let me know and I can get that updated as well.
Belmont Station (Portland) is hosting southern California’s The Bruery for Meet the “Bruer” event today from 5 to 8pm: “Join The Bruery for a very special evening and rare Portland appearance! We will be pouring four of The Bruery’s excellent Terreux beers: Humulus, Frucht Passionfruit, Frederick H. and Frucht Boysenberry.”
This Tuesday, June 27, Deschutes Brewery is celebrating their 29th birthday! And at their Bend Pub from 5 to 9pm they are holding an 80s-themed Back Alley Bash: “Live music from Bend’s own WOEBEGONE. Jackfruit and Carnitas tacos. Elote. Fun 80’s games (including but not limited to Plinko and Atari). An 80’s COSTUME CONTEST. The DEBUT of BLACK BUTTE XXIX! Flights of Black Butte XXIV-XXIX available in the restaurant. Head on down and help us celebrate 29 years of existence!”
The next Portland beer festival is coming up this weekend, the Portland Craft Beer Festival, taking place June 30 through July 2. “Plan to attend our big outdoor party at the Fields Neighborhood Park to find the broadest selection of local beers, ciders and wine, including a few that you can’t find anywhere outside the breweries. PCBF is held annually the first weekend in July, helping to kick off Oregon Craft Beer Month. We look forward to our next celebration of Portland craft beer Friday June 30th, Saturday July 1st, & Sunday July 2nd, 2017. Tickets are now available through Bold Type Tickets.” Cost is $25 for the mug and 10 beer tickets, with additional costing $1 apiece.
Fat Head’s Brewery (Portland): Their Rare Barrel Ages Releases event continues for a few more days, featuring some very interesting beers: “We will be tapping 4 barrel aged beers for you guys to try out!! Tequila barrel aged Big Hoppa, Tequila barrel aged IBUsive, Indio Whiskey barrel aged Sorcerer, and Rum barrel aged Sorcerer. We look forward to comparing the IPA’s and the two different Sorcerers!! How about you guys?!”
