Here’s the Oregon beer news for Thursday, July 2. I’m off tomorrow, so there may or may not be a 4th of July weekend beer news post. As usual, I’ll be periodically updating this post throughout the day, so check back often. If you have news to share, please contact me and I can get that posted as well.
McMenamins Old Church & Pub (Wilsonville) has their monthly special beer tasting tonight starting at 5pm, featuring Zesty’s Best Citrus Infused IPA: “Are you an IPA fan who just can’t get enough citrus in your beer? Then try our one and only Zesty’s Best IPA! Dry hopped with a special blend of hops and zested citrus fruits, Zesty’s overflows with notes of grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, and fresh pine. This beer is sure to please your inner hophead while quenching your thirst on a hot July day. Reverend Nat’s Hard Cider (Portland) is hosting Finnriver Cider today at their taproom for some fun tastings: “Join us as Reverend Nat’s hosts Finnriver Cidery Thursday, July 2nd. The event runs 4-11pm, with complementary Finnriver cider samples served 5-8pm. Finnriver’s Summer Seasonal, Lavender Black Currant Cider will be on draft and being served as a cider cocktail with Reverend Nat’s Tepache! Limited Finnriver bottles will be on hand for purchase to go. The draft line up also includes Finnriver Farmstead Cider and limited release, Finnriver Oak and Apple, recently awarded Gold in the Oak Aged Category at the Portland International Cider Cup. A very special offering of Finnriver’s Pommeau will be available for purchase in small pours during the event.”
The Green Dragon (Portland) is hosting San Diego’s Belching Beaver Brewing today for their meet the brewer event from 5 to 8pm: “Thomas “Beaver King” Peters of Belching Beaver comes to the Green Dragon this week with an amazing assortment of brews, ranging from honey and fruit, sour and berries, peanut butter and chocolate, milky stouts, and Thomas’ personal “ode to hops”. You’re sure to find something to please and challenge your palate!” Be sure to try the Peanut Butter Milk Stout!
Chetco Brewing (Brookings): Today is the start of a four-day grand opening celebration for Chetco’s new tap room! Featuring: “Introduction of the Runner’s Club*, food truck, live music, raffles, hors d’ouvres and more! Gigantic Brewing (Portland) has the release party for their latest seasonal taking place today at Lardo Sandwiches, it’s a beer named SOLID! Hoppy American Wheat: “Join Gigantic for the release of our newest seasonal SOLID! Hoppy American Wheat. Lardo is creating a custom sandwich to pair with this tasty, hoppy, refreshing beer. SOLID! has a huge fresh squeezed citrus: kumquat and orange hop aroma and flavor. Crisp and refreshing wheat. with fresh orange peel bitterness in the finish. 6% ABV.” The release party starts at 5pm.
