Oregon Beer News, 07/12/2017
Here is the new in Oregon beer for Wednesday, July 12. As usual, I’ll be periodically updating this post throughout the day with the latest news, so check back often for updates. If you have news to share, please contact me and I can get that updated as well.
McMenamins Thompson Brewery (Salem) has their Savor in Salem beer tasting tonight from 5 to 7pm, featuring a spicy Fevered Session ISA: “We’ve given our summer seasonal, Jam Session ISA, a nice little kick! Jalapeno, Serrano and Anaheim peppers were soaked in Tequila then blended over our easy-drinking ISA. The combination of floral hops with citrus and pine varieties provides a great balance to the soft heat and green flavors of the peppers. This is a unique, heated twist on the Pacific Northwest love of hops.”
Culmination Brewing (Portland) has a collaboration beer going on tap today, Cream a l’Orange: “Cream a l’Orange is a collaboration beer that Culmination Brewing Company and Soulwater Creative Beer Project designed together. Soulwater is a brewery from Ireland and you can learn more about them here: http://soulwaterbeer.com/#about. Our beer is a 5% A.B.V. cream ale and it will be available on Nitro at the Culmination taproom. It can be described as having flavors of orange, cream, & vanilla. Enjoy!”
Migration Brewing (Portland) is hosting Breweries for Books 2017 today from 4 to 8pm, which sounds like a great cause: “Breweries for Books returns! Once again, Migration is generously donating 10% of their proceeds during the night to First Book Portland. Every $3.00 you help raise puts a new book in the hands of a disadvantaged child in the Portland metro area, and 100% of funds we raise go directly back into the community.” Make sure to head over there tonight and help out.
Rogue Ales Eastside Pub & Pilot Brewery in Portland has their Green Dragon Brew Crew release tonight, and it is featuring a Hefeweizen: “Here is a classic hefeweizen brewed with 97% Mecca Grade malt, 70% of which is the Wickiup Wheat. This gives a nice fluffy head that persists quite awhile. At 4.5% ABV, this is a great refreshing summer beer to help relieve the heat… if we ever get any. Enjoy!” Be there at 5pm for the tapping.
Three Mugs Brewing (Hillsboro) has a beer release today starting at 3pm for Session IPA: “To further celebrate Oregon Beer Month, we’re releasing a delicious, hoppy session IPA for your quaffing pleasure.”
