Oregon Beer News, 07/22/2015
Happy OBF day! Today is the start of the 28th annual Oregon Brewers Festival in Portland, so I hope everyone is visiting (or planning to) accordingly. Here’s the rest of the Oregon beer news for Wednesday, July 22; as usual, I’ll be periodically updating this post throughout the day with the latest news, so check back often for updates. If you have news to share, please contact me and I can get that updated as well.
Belmont Station (Portland): They are hosting California’s 21st Amendment Brewery today for a meet the brewer and tasting from 4 to 6pm: “Our good friend, Shaun O’Sullivan, the brewmaster at San Francisco’s 21st Amendment, is in town for the Oregon Brewers Festival, but he’s taking some time out of his busy schedule to lift a couple of pints with us. “Sully” always has great stories to share and is a lot of fun to hang out with, so swing by and say hi!”
McMenamins Oak Hills Brewpub (Portland) has a special beer release all day today, featuring Kremlin Barrel Aged Imperial Stout: “This imperial stout is black, strong, and mighty tasty. Made with six types of malt, two types of hops and a big dose of molasses that all together provides the big bold flavors. Coffee, roast, chocolate, caramel, molasses and a slight floral/spiciness from the hops.” A big 9.03% abv, worth checking out!
The Green Dragon (Portland): Their Green Dragon Brew Crew release today at 5pm is featuring an English IPA: “Join the Green Dragon Brew Crew on a journey back in time, to the days when Britannia ruled the waves and to the creation of the India Pale Ale. This week’s release is a true to its roots, English IPA. Brewed with German malts, and British malts and hops, this an amber hued beauty with a slightly malted profile. May the sun never set on the English IPA!”
