Oregon Beer News, 08/19/2015
Here’s the Oregon beer news for Hump Day, Wednesday the 19th of August. As usual, I’ll be periodically updating this post throughout the day with the latest news, so check back often for updates. And if you have news to share, please contact me and I can get that updated as well.
McMenamins Oak Hills Brewpub (Portland) has a limited edition beer tasting today starting at 4pm, featuring Oaked Aged Red Line Ale: “This is an aggressive American amber ale. Pushing this Amber Ale to the max while keeping it balanced is the theme of this beer. Pale malt, Rolled Oats, Amber malt, Red X and a touch of Black malt is the backbone of this tasty Ale where the Sterling whole leaf hops and dry hopped with Galaxy Pellets rounds out the flavors. Then Aged for a month with an Oak Spiral that was soaked in Whiskey, to redline the flavors.”
The Bier Stein (Eugene) is hosting a gluten-free cider pairing dinner with WildCraft Cider Works tonight from 6 to 8:30pm. Tickets cost $45 and it’s a six-course meal paired with a variety of interesting and unusual ciders. Vegetarian options are available; check out the full menu here.
The Green Dragon (Portland): Their Green Dragon Brew Crew release tonight is for Mmmadness IPA: “The Brew Crew poured in a healthy helping of Meridian and Magnum hops to craft Mmmadness IPA, a wonderfully full-throated Northwest IPA that’s both smooth and bold. Mmmadness IPA is an ode to the hop harvest, which is just getting started at Rogue Farms and throughout Oregon. This is greatest time to be a craft beer lover. The hops are ripe for picking and the beer is flowing. Come to the Green Dragon this Wednesday and join us in a celebration of the season.” It kicks off at 5pm.
