Oregon Beer News, 09/11/2013
Here’s the Oregon beer news for this hump day, September 11. As usual, I’ll be periodically updating this post throughout the day with the latest news, so check back often. If you have news to share, please contact me and I can get that updated as well.
Corvallis Beer Week continues with a bevy of events including:
- A “Craft Beer Run” event at the City Limits Country Store featuring “schwag giveaways, awesome beers and friendly faces for all” from 3 to 7pm;
- Calapooia Brewing Night at Squirrel’s Tavern: “Meet the brewer and see what the Calapooia team has in store for this fall and winter!”
- An IPA tap takeover at the American Dream Crowbar featuring ten different local and regional IPAs, starting at 6:30pm.
Lots more events to be found on their site.
Some Oregon breweries got a good mention in this article from The Street today on top ten fastest-growing small breweries in the U.S.: Fort George (Astoria), 10 Barrel (Bend) and Boneyard (Bend). Snagging three of the ten spots is good, but also a little crazy that two are from here in Bend! Good job all around!
The Green Dragon (Portland) is hosting Portland’s own Coalition Brewing tonight for a meet the brewer event starting at 5:30pm: “We’ll have 4 beers on tap, including a special sneak preview of our brand new fresh hop ISA, called Simply Dank! Tomorrow we release Simply Dank and The Green Pig at the pub.” (Fresh Hop Watch™!)
Fire Cirkl (White City): I saw this the other day and forgot to post it: Fire Cirkl has been picked up by a distributor! “Fire Cirkl products are on their way to Portland and the surrounding area. Maletis Beverage is now distributing our products in the counties that make up Portland and the surrounding area, including southwestern WA. This will get us on the shelves in Whole Foods Markets and bottle shops.” Can’t have enough braggots out there.
