I hope your Monday is going well for you and the week is off to a good start! Here’s the news in Oregon beer to help you along for this Monday, September 18. As usual, I’ll be periodically updating this post throughout the day with the latest news as I find it, so check back often. If you have news to share, please let me know and I can get that updated as well.

This weekend sees more Oktoberfest celebrations taking place around the state, including: McMenamins Old St. Francis School (Bend), McMenamins Hotel Oregon (McMinnville), McMenamins Edgefield (Troutdale), Occidental Brewing (Portland), and Ninkasi’s NinkasiFest (Eugene). And there may be more! I’ll update as I find out about them.
Deschutes Brewery‘s Street Pub is coming to Portland this Saturday! The Street Pub is a 400-foot bar that takes up a city street for a one-of-a-kind Deschutes experience: “Street Pub is a family friendly one-stop shop to try lots of our beers! With over 50 taps – from our Black Butte Anniversary Series to Pub Exclusives like Botanic Ale, Overnight Phenom, Wayfarer Cider, and Schwarz Lager to year-round favorites like Mirror Pond Pale Ale and Fresh Squeezed IPA. Since Portland is our home, you’ll also find several Innovative/Experiemental Pub Exclusive Beers that you won’t find in any other city, including a guest tap the neighborhood brewery, Wayfinder Beer. We’ll pair these beers up with culinary creations from our Executive Chef, Jeff Usinowicz and local Chefs from Wayfinder Beer & other local chefs.” It runs from 2 to 10pm.
More Oktoberfesting! Portland’s Loyal Legion is celebrating Oktoberfest the entire stretch—from the 16th through October 3rd. And then in Eugene the 3rd annual Oktoberfest at Beergarden is underway, also running the entire 18 days—and tonight they have a tapping with Ninkasi.
Bailey’s Taproom (Portland) is in the midst of their Back 2 School Bottle Sale at The Upper Lip. “We’re doing some Autumn cleaning in our bottle cellar and want your help. After 10 years of stowing away bottles, we figured we’d start over by clearing everything out… and making an event of it! For our first ever Bottle Sale, we’ll turn The Upper Lip into a bottle market for a 2-day event including special draft.” They have a pretty great bottle list posted…
Culmination Brewing (Portland) has a beer release party today from 4 to 8pm: “Join us at Culmination Brewing Company for the release of C&T IIPA developed by Culmination Brewing Head Brewer Conrad Andrus and Toro Bravo Chef Pat Manning with El Dorado hops and spent botanicals from Aviation gin.
