Oregon Beer News, 10/08/2012
Monday brings us to the start of a new week and even more news in Oregon beer! I’ll be updating this post periodically throughout the day with the latest Oregon beer news, so check back often to keep current. And if you have news to share, please contact me and I can get it updated.
Belmont Station (Portland) has a bottle release featuring Corvallis’ Block 15 Brewery this Wednesday the 10th from 5 to 8pm: “Any time Block 15’s Nick Arzner comes our way we know we’re in for an amazing time! Several incredible new bottle releases tonight: Demon’s Farm – Black Farmhouse ale aged 8 months in pinot noir barrels with Oregon cherries & brettanomyces. Framboise White – Belgian-style white ale open fermented with a special blend of Belgian yeast, lactobacillus, and brettanomyces, then matured for three seasons in chardonnay barrels with organic golden raspberries from Denison farm. Strawberry Fields – Tart Farmhouse ale conditioned with 300 lbs of ripe strawberries from Stahlbush Island farms & blended with select barrels of wild golden ales aged 4-27 months. Our very own Capt. Neil helped bottle the Demon’s Farm! Did we mention we’ll have all three of these beers on draft, too? Wow!”
Burnside Brewing (Portland) has their annual Night of the Living Ales party announced for Friday, October 26 (Facebook event), from 8pm to 1am. “Taking place Friday October 26th under a large tent on 7th and E. Burnside outside of Burnside Brewing Co. NOTLA celebrates everything crafty and fun about Halloween from special cocktails at the full bar to elaborate fun decor by Bloke designs, killer music from Boy Eats Drum Machine and unique hand-crafted beers you wont find anywhere else from the likes of Burnside Brewing, Oakshire Brewing, Upright Brewing, Ninkasi Brewing, Bushwhacker Cidery, Lompoc Brewing and more.” It’s only $10 and should be a great party, featuring (among other things) “craft beers, booze, burlesque, costume contests, go-go dancers and the album release for local hometown favorite Boy Eats Drum Machine.”
Sasquatch Brewing (Portland) also has their own Halloween “Monster Bash” taking place on Saturday the 27th from 9pm to midnight: costumes, dancing, discount pitchers and more. I don’t know if the brewery is brewing up a special batch of beer for the night, but there may be a Sasquatch sighting…
