Oregon Beer News, 10/08/2015
Here is the news in beer from around Oregon for Thursday, October 8. As usual, I’ll be periodically updating this post throughout the day, so check back often. And if you have news to share, please contact me and I can get that updated as well.
McMenamins Edgefield (Troutdale) has a limited-edition beer tasting today starting at 5pm, featuring Wild Saison Aged with Plums: “The Estate Saison is a dark Saison aged in oak barrels from Edgefield distillery for four months with wild yeast and Italian plums grown in Edgefield’s orchards. This wild ale is dark and tart with a complex, roasty, and deeply fruity character that also possesses a strong oaky, vanilla influence from the wood. This beer is one of a kind and 100% Edgefield.” Sounds delicious and intriguing!
Cascade Brewing (Portland): Their 5-year anniversary celebration of the Barrel House continues today, with special tappings of ’09 Noyaux and ’09 Sang Rouge—both good beers. Once tapped they’ll be available in four-ounce pours for $5 each.
Block 15 Brewery (Corvallis) continues their Sticky Hands can release rollout in Eugene at The Bier Stein tonight, from 5 to 7pm, featuring the release of the cans as well as a great tap list available (read that here).
The Green Dragon (Portland) has their weekly meet the brewer event tonight, this week featuring Steve Van Rossem of Plank Town Brewing starting at 5pm: “Located in Springfield, Oregon, Plank Town Brewing had people buzzing before they opened their doors and poured their first pint. Two years later and they’re still buzzing. Find out what’s it’s all about at the Green Dragon this Thursday when brewer Steve Van Rossem four of his favorite brews, including cask conditioned Hobbit’s Habbit Olde Ale!”
