Oregon Beer News, 10/17/2017
Here is the news in Oregon beer for Tuesday, October 17. As usual, I’ll be periodically updating this post throughout the day, so check back often for the latest news. And if you have news to share, please contact me and I can get that posted as well.
Belmont Station (Portland) is the latest release party stop for the GoodLife/Ale Apothecary collaboration beer, Brett Lager—taking place tonight from 5 to 8pm: “We welcome the “good” folks of GoodLife and The Ale Apothecary for a special night as we help them release their new collaboration straight outta Bend! We will have Good Life Pineapple Sweet As (a variant of their recent GABF award-winner) on tap along with the Brett Lager collaboration for something to imbibe while picking the brains of the mad scientists (brewers) of GoodLife and The Ale Apothecary.”
Deschutes Brewery (Bend): Tuesdays are Community Pints days at the Bend and Portland Pubs, where $1 of every pint sold goes to benefit a local non-profit organization. At both Pubs this month, Planned Parenthood is the beneficiary: “It’s October, and it’s also Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Our Community Pints Partner this month is Planned Parenthood, which provides health care for all (which includes services like breast cancer screenings and treatment!)” Get down there and enjoy a pint or three to help out!
Cascade Brewing (Portland): Today they are releasing Rose City Sour, “a blend of wheat and blond ales aged in oak wine barrels for up to 14 months with rose petals, rose hips and hibiscus tea.” 750ml bottles of the beer will be available at the Barrel House and the Raccoon Lodge, and it will be on draft as well.
And Cascade’s Tap It Tuesday at the Barrel House at 6pm tonight is featuring Blue Autumn: “Blue Autumn, a blend of sour triple, quad and red ales aged in wine and bourbon barrels with over 300 pounds of blueberries and a touch of lemon peel. Blue Autumn offers intense flavors of fresh blueberries and lemon zest with hints of banana candy and bubblegum to brighten up your Autumn blues.”
Block 15 Brewery (Corvallis) has their Dine Out fundraiser today, supporting Monroe Elementary School: “Please join us for a delicious, locally sourced meal at our downtown pub on Tuesday, October 17th – 10% of food sales will be donated to Monroe Elementary.”
Coin Toss Brewing (Oregon City) has “Hazy Tuesday” today—a beer release kicking off at 3pm: “Here comes another limited-release New England-style IPA. This one features a blend of Topaz, Galaxy, Idaho 7 & Vic Secret hops. Only one keg exists so get in here and enjoy!”
Pints Brewing (Portland) has a pumpkin beer on tap! “Meet Punkelweiss, the newest addition to the taproom! It’s a Dunkelweiß with real pumpkin and some candied yams plus a dash of pumpkin pie spices – it’s not a spice-bomb though, it’s got a delicate balance. Autumn has officially arrived.”
Sedition Brewing (The Dalles): Their latest Liquid Education series session is tonight starting at 5:30pm: “Classes focus on various ingredients and aspects of craft beer making. The classes will last for approximately 30 – 45 minutes with time for tasting and mingling to follow. All participants must be 21 and up, as you will be sampling beer throughout class.”
Oregon City Brewing has their Tuesday Night Pints for Charity starting at 5pm: “Let’s help some parks projects! Tonight’s #CharityPintNight is to benefit the Oregon City Parks Foundation’s Promenade Park Xeriscape Garden planting and Water Board Park ivy eradication projects. From 5 pm to Close $1 of every OCB pint, soda, flight, crowler or growler fill go towards making Oregon City greener. Cheers, Pioneers!”
Hop Valley Brewing (Springfield) has a new beer out: “Our brewers reached into their secret stash of Mosaic Cryo Hop Resin to create a tropical dankness in this new age IPA. Take a hit of these bright sweet notes in this easy drinkin’ bubbler. You won’t want to pass this one! Available in six-pack cans and on draft throughout the Pacific Northwest, Idaho & Northern California.”
