Oregon Beer News, 10/25/2011
Here is today’s Oregon beer news, items I’ve started curating from around the web, email, and such. If you have a particular bit of news you’d like listed here, contact me and send me the details, and I’ll update this page throughout the day.
Cascade Brewing (Portland) has their “Tap It Tuesday” at 6pm, featuring “Bourbon Red Rye, a Northwest-style sour red rye that was barrel aged for 10 months, then blended with a touch of Bourbon Quad” (from their Facebook page).
10 Barrel Brewing (Bend): Ping Pong Pumpkin Ale is on tap at the westside Bend pub as of late yesterday afternoon.
Lompoc Brewing (Portland): “It’s Tightwad Tuesday at Fifth Quadrant & Hedge House – $2.50 regular Lompoc pints all day long!” (From Facebook)
Silver Moon Brewing (Bend): This week’s “Growler Power Hour” ($5 growler fills from 4 to 5pm weekdays) specials are for their Bridge Creek Pilsner and Snake Bite Porter.
Barley Brown’s Brewpub (Baker City) now has Hop On Pale Ale on tap, which uses 100% Crystal hops. (From Facebook)
Deschutes Brewery (Bend): The main brewery (not the pub) will be closed to tours, tastings, and gift shopping from the 26th through the 28th (Wednesday to Friday), due to the construction they have going on.
Bend Brewing (Bend): Tonight is Locals Night at the pub with cheap pints from 4pm until close (I believe pints are $2.50) and half-priced appetizers as well from 4 to 6 and 9 to closing.
Hopworks Urban Brewery (Portland) is releasing their Pig War NW Style Ale today, celebrating with the release party at both of HUB’s locations from 5 to 7pm, along with the bottle designers (Jolby) who created the label. Pig War is an “estate ale” brewed with hops grown exclusively on San Juan Island for this purpose. And the name? “The name Pig War commemorates the confrontation in 1859 between American and British authorities over San Juan Island.”
