Happy Hump Day, it’s all downhill from here! Here’s the news in Oregon beer for Wednesday the 14th of November; while I usually update periodically throughout the day, I may or may not be able to today (busy day)—so check back but there may or may not be updates. Lompoc Brewing (Portland) has their “Geraldo Brewvera’s Return to the Vault” event going on at the Hedge House today from 5 to 7pm, a goofy-fun excuse to serve up some rarities. “Join Geraldo Brewvera as he delves deep into the vault of this neighborhood landmark – what will he pull out? Be on-site and find out! Also featuring the release of Scarlet Red, taster trays from the vault & free appetizers!”

Belmont Station (Portland) has a tasting and meet the brewer today featuring Old Schoolhouse Brewery out of Washington, from 6 to 8pm: “Old Schoolhouse, nestled in the small town of Winthrop, Washington, may be the best little brewery you’ve never heard of. Brewer Blaze Ruud will be here to pour tastes of their Ruud Awakening IPA (now we know where that name came from), Imperial IPA and Imperial Stout bottles. We’ll also run the Imperial stout on draft!”

10 Barrel Brewing (Bend) have three pumpkin beers going on tap today at their Bend pub (you all know I love hunting pumpkin beers!):  Big Ol’ Pumpkin, Rye Pumpkin Porter and O’Pumpkin Fest. The O’Pumpkin Fest had also appeared at this year’s Great Pumpkin Beer Fest up at Elysian, it’s a “pumpkin Oktoberfest” beer. Looks like they’ll be serving all three up as a flight which should be fun.

Cascade Brewing (Portland): Today they are releasing a very limited batch of Cerise Nouveau in bottles, at 4:01pm precisely (“to coincide with the 12:01 am release of Nouveau Beaujolais in France”). There won’t be any of their usual online sales for this beer; and “750 ml bottles sell for $21, with a four bottle limit” so if you want some of this, you’d better get on it as soon as you can.

Sky High Brewing (Corvallis): Tonight is the release of their new winter beer, Jingle Balz Winter Ale: “The party begins at Sky High Brewing & Pub from 4:30-6:00, then we’re movin’ on over to the Corvallis Crowbar for a FULL TAP TAKE-OVER from 6:30-10! Samples, good times, and swag raffles at BOTH locations.”
