Oregon Beer News, 11/17/2015
Here’s the beer news from around Oregon for Tuesday, the 17th of November. As usual, I’ll be periodically updating this post throughout the day, so check back often for the latest news. And if you have news to share, please contact me and I can get that posted as well.
Cascade Brewing (Portland): Tonight’s Tap It Tuesday at the Barrel House at 6pm is featuring Caramel Crumb: “a blend of sour Quad ales aged in brandy and bourbon barrels for two years with vanilla beans and rum-soaked dates. Rich holiday flavors of caramel malts, vanilla, streusel topping and candied pecans are matched with a full body and crisp acidity. 10.5% ABV” Wow!
Belmont Station (Portland) is gearing up for their “Black Friday” Goose Island Bourbon County Stout charity event, with “sneak preview” tickets going on sale today at 4pm for their pre-Thanksgiving tasting: “On WEDNESDAY, November 25, we will be pouring four very special rare versions of Goose Island Bourbon County Stout our taproom. And we are using that pre-Thanksgiving opportunity to raise some serious money for the Oregon Food Bank. This will be a ticketed event, with a pre-purchased ticket allowing the holder to enjoy a flight of Bourbon County goodness, including 2015 Bourbon County Stout, BCS Barleywine, BCS Regal Rye and BCS Coffee. Only one ticket per person on the day of the event. The beers will ONLY be available to ticket-holding customers. TICKETS GO ON SALE Tuesday, Nov. 17 at 4 p.m. at Belmont Station only. There will be a limit of FOUR tickets purchased per person, so you can buy extras for friends. But the day of the event, (Wed., Nov. 25), you may only redeem one ticket per person. Ticket cost is $30 per ticket with $15 of each ticket going to benefit the Oregon Food Bank.” Definitely a good cause to line up for!
Upright Brewing (Portland) has a new beer, what sounds like a wild saison: “ROSA is a unique beer blending a young and vibrant well hopped saison with a cask of barrel aged Rose, a one-off from earlier this year using rose petals and aged in a pinot noir barrel through the summer. The resulting beer has an aromatic character similar to the vermouth of Asti, Italy, complimented by earthy brettanomyces flavors. 6%”
Plank Town Brewing (Springfield) is holding a Beer & Game night at The Tap and Growler in Eugene tonight, from 6 to 9pm: “Join us at The Tap & Growler on Tuesday, November 17th to play BIERO! It’s like Bingo, but you just say “Biero!” when you win, because, you’re likely drinking beer, and we LOVE beer! WIN PRIZES! We will happen to have a few specialty brews on tap this very special evening so please join in on the fun to make it the best Tuesday ever.”
Alameda Brewing (Portland) has their winter/holiday ale available now: “Aged in Aquavit barrels for deep layers of oak and licorice. The seasonal Nightbeer Before Christmas is available for purchase at the brewery and can be found at a store near you!”
Grain Station Brew Works (McMinnville): New beers on tap today includes their winter ale: “GRAIN STATION CELEBRATION: Our winter ale has a tawny, rich malt body warmly spiced by a blend of topaz and columbus hops.
