Oregon Beer News, 12/18/2018
Here is the news in Oregon beer for this Tuesday, December 18. It’s a bit of a Resilience IPA day with several tappings taking place today, so make sure to seek it out and help with Camp Fire relief as 100% of the proceeds is donated towards that. As usual I’ll also be updating this post throughout the day so check back occasionally for the latest news.
Allegory Brewing (McMinnville) teamed up with other Yamhill County breweries to brew Resilience IPA, and today starting at 5pm Loyal Legion in Portland is hosting the release party for the beer: “Allegory Brewing hosted a collaboration brew of the Sierra Nevada recipe for the Resilience IPA, with all proceeds going to those affected by the California Campfire. Wolves And People, Golden Valley, Grain Station, and Heater Allen all teamed up with Allegory( all breweries in Yamhill County) to make this special beer for a great cause. 100% of the money goes to those who need it. We will have a couple beers from each of the breweries on tap as well for you to enjoy and compare.”
Eugene’s Oakshire Brewing is also releasing Resilience IPA today—in two locations. It will be tapped at its Public House tonight at 6pm: “Join us at the Pub for a very special Tuesday Beer Release as we all come together and do our small part to help the rebuilding process. Our 9 BBL batch of Resilience IPA will be available on tap at the Pub until gone, so if you can’t make it on 12/18, don’t worry – you can still drink your donation throughout December and January!”
And then, Oakshire has donated a keg to several other Eugene spots, and today Beergarden is the first of those to be tapping a keg. “Oakshire Brewing jumped on this opportunity and has generously donated one keg to each of our locations: beergarden, Tap and Growler & PublicHouse. Each of our pubs will donate 100% of the proceeds to the Camp Fire relief effort. Come and support our neighbors in California with a pint of Oakshire’s Resilience Butte County Proud IPA.”
Deschutes Brewery (Bend): Tuesdays are Community Pints days at the Deschutes locations, where $1 from every pint sold goes to benefit a local non-profit organization. In Bend, the Pub and the Tasting Room are benefiting Friends of the Children, while in Portland the Pub is benefiting the Chill Foundation.
Oregon City Brewing has its Charity Pint Night tonight, benefiting Ciacc Toy N Joy: “‘Tis the time of year to spread joy and cheer! Please join us in support of Toy N Joy; coordinating and distributing food and toys to families in need in our community. Cheers Pioneers! Reminder that our toy drive concludes at the end of this event”
Cascade Brewing (Portland): Tonight’s live barrel Tap It Tuesday at the Barrel House at 6pm is featuring Cheery Vlad: “A variation of our Vlad the Imp Aler blend. Cheery Vlad features sour quad ales aged in a bourbon barrel for 22 months with an addition of more than 150 pounds of fresh Oregon-grown sour cherries. This limited live barrel project showcases flavors of bourbon and tart cherry pie with a rich malt sweetness balanced by a bright lactic acidity.”
Old Town Brewing (Portland) has a big beer just tapped: “We just tapped “Weird Uncle” our big breakfast stout, brewed with Vermont maple syrup, flaked coconut, and dark roasted coffee from local roaster @wateravecoffee – you can pick up a growler or sip on it at either of our locations now!”
Caldera Brewing (Ashland) has its Resilience IPA on tap at the brewery and restaurant now. (According to the company’s email newsletter.) Stop in and drink some to help with Camp Fire relief.
