Belmont Station (Portland) is hosting a tasting with beer importers Vanberg & DeWulf tonight from 5 to 7:30pm: “You can never spend enough time with the Belgians, especially during the holidays. So Vanberg & DeWulf will be showcasing several of their specialty Belgian beers at this tasting in the bottle shop. Expect to be able to sample: Dubsuisson Scaldis Noel and Scaldis Prestige, Dupont Avec les Bons Voux, Vicaris Winter 2013 and, just to keep us on our toes, an offering from Germany — Schlossbrauerei Au-Hallertau Auer Schnee Bock.”
The BeerMongers (Portland) is hosting Eugene’s Oakshire Brewing today for the Portland release of Oakshire’s 2013 Barleywine: “Come down and meet the crew at Oakshire Brewing! We will be releasing bottles of their new 2013 Barleywine as well as featuring that and other specialty pub-only offerings on tap. Special suprises and more info available over the next few days.” It runs from 6 to 9pm tonight, be there!
Stickmen Brewery & Skewery (Lake Oswego) is releasing their Holiday Ale Festival beer today: “This Tuesday we welcome our Holiday Ale Fest entry – The Twerking Elf, this sour will get your cheeks moving with nicely puckering notes of dark cherry, dried fruit and sour plum, along with backing from multiple specialty malts. Be careful where you shake it! 7.2%, 21 IBU’s”
Deschutes Brewery (Bend): This Thursday, the 12th, is the release of the final beer (both in Bend and Portland) in the brewery’s “Class of 88” collaboration series, their Belgian-Style Ale they brewed with Goose Island Brewing out of Chicago. This beer was brewed with Riesling juice and Pinot grapes, and aged in Muscat barrels. The Brewery will have it on draft and have bottles available for sale, another one not to miss!
Cascade Brewing (Portland): Tonight’s Tap It Tuesday at the Barrel House at 6pm is featuring “Live” L’agent Orange: “This NW style sour is a Blender’s Reserve spiced blond quad that was aged in Heaven Hill Bourbon barrels for 16 months then spiced with orange peel and honey. Orange zest and herbal honey notes present themselves in the nose. Bright, tart orange peel, huge sweet malts and spices of coriander on the palate give way to a crisp orange finish that lingers. This could be just the thing to quench your thirst on that rare sunny winter’s day. 12% ABV | $8 Glass | $3 Taster”
The Green Dragon (Portland) is tapping a new beer from their Buckman Botanical Brewery tonight: “Danny Connors of Buckman Botanical Brewery will tap a firkin his creation, Ginger Pale Ale at 5pm. Drop by and have a pint.”
